  need for speed most wanted 2 was looking insanely good for a beta. i've played it myself and the engine sounds for a prototype were insane. not just the engine sounds, but the graphics and "prologue" with the main character talking about how he was hiding for 7 years. another thing worth mentioning is that if you look at the concept art of nfsmw2 you can see an orange mclaren with the text "you have 23 kills with this vehicle". you can tell criterion were going all out with this whole darker tone thing lol. im 99% sure that this game was originally supposed to be something like nfsmw and nfsc put together because in one of the files theres a voice line suggesting towards a territory takeover game mode. personally I think that if the game was finished it would get more sales than the actual nfsmw because of how many different genres it fitted, including the car weapons they were planning on implementing. im glad that more people are talking about the nfs2012 betas because I find them really interesting.. it'd be nice if you looked into the protypes of the game and made a video about them

  So basically Devs kept trying to turn need for speed onto GTA Road Rash Twisted Metal Death Race with expensive cars and rpg elements but EA thought we weren't ready for that

  It’s kinda crazy thinking about some of the really ambitious concepts that were completely shelved by EA. The reason why we got games like Underground and Most Wanted in the first place was because of devs who weren’t afraid to rock the boat and try new things with the franchise and I wish we still had that level of ambition with right now. At this point I don’t care what direction the series goes in as long as it results in a good game. Could be open world, closed track, street racing or motorsports. Don’t care as long as it’s a good racing game.

  Really surprised EA didn’t take the Call Of Duty route with Need For Speed. It would’ve made a ton of sense to have Black Box make narrative games, Slightly Mad make Shift, Ghost make the open world games and Criterion make Burnout. A four-year rotation for developers would work really well and you can still get a NFS game every year. Between that and an actual NFS World, Need For Speed could’ve been eating real good right now.

  I really miss the crazy ideas from NFS, them holding back the creativity was a huge mistake. It looks like the only people who really understood NFS was Black Box and Black Box ruled NFS for over a decade and it&apos;s crazy how only 1 bad game justified a their shutdown and it&apos;s not like black box only made NFS games but Black Box made NFS who they are today and EA couldn&apos;t even give them a chance to redeem themselves with either a brand new IP or a long awaited sequel. That was EA&apos;s career defining mistake because now they don&apos;t even make nfs games anymore, great video man :)
