  Stellar Blade felt like an actual, proper video game. Many games these days feel like movies with occasional gameplay. Stellar Blade uses just the right amount of cutscenes, prioritises art directon and fun over realism, the music is absolutely amazing, the protagonist looks like a protagonist. It is a proper video game.

  The director admitted the story lacked mostly because of a lack of budget to tell it the way he wanted (so all told through memory sticks which most people don’t read and feel like a cheap story telling device - it was). &nbsp;Because thus game did so well, they’ll have the money to make it better next time - plus these are the devs of Nikke - and that story and lore is unbelievable- so I know they have it in them for SB

  Just beat it last week. Did all the side quests which I hardly ever do and caught all the fish and collectibles, and collected all the cans. I didn&apos;t want the game to end. It&apos;s an incredible game in every aspect.

  I&apos;m not quite to the end of the game yet (and by proxy I had to skip some of the video) but I have a distinct thought about the post-apocalyptic setting and story of Stellar Blade.<br><br>Compared to other post-apocalyptic stories I&apos;ve seen or experienced, Stellar Blade felt like it had a very powerful message:<br><br>It permeates not just the narrative but the gameplay and the characters. Yeah, there&apos;s a lot of sad and tragic things happening, both in the past and actively during the adventure. Most of the time, you&apos;re too late to save anyone.<br><br>But there&apos;s one distinct throughline in it all: &quot;I refuse to give up. I will hold on to my humanity, even if my foundations crumble to dust.&quot;<br><br>This is compared to other post-apocalyptic settings where sometimes it just feels like misery porn designed to snuff out all hope in your heart. Stellar Blade, instead, is full of survivors who refuse to give up. Maybe it hasn&apos;t worked out for a lot of them but no one is going to give in to despair up until their last moments.<br><br>It&apos;s sad. It&apos;s tragic. But despair is not welcome. That&apos;s Stellar Blade.<br><br>EDIT: Actually, thinking back, the narrative might also be building to showing what does happen to those who give in to despair. It&apos;s nothing good.
