One of the most important contributions of Evita's work for humanity was the change in the legal status of children born out of wedlock, before they were considered inferior morally, but also legally and Evita changed that status, she eliminated the word "BASTARD" from the official birth certificate and in its place she put the word "NATURAL", in this way she not only gave back legal equality to all newborns regardless of whether they were born out of wedlock or in wedlock. With this, no newborn would have a legal disadvantage to deal with from the beginning of their lives.

Her foundation forced contributions from companies (like my grandfather’s), only a small percentage of which went out to the people and the rest went to offshore accounts. Now I am all for helping the poor, but if the Perons really wanted to do that they shouldn’t have been lining their pockets.

The obsession with her clothes always amuses me. Name one world renowned First Lady that dressed in rags & old raggedy clothes purchased at the local Goodwill. Laughable that a young woman who was a former actress and model, in her 20's (she became First Lady at 26) wouldn't dress up. Paris designers literally wanted to dress her & D'ior claimed the only Queen he dressed was Eva Peron. Furthermore her jewels were mostly gifts, either from other state leaders or from her good friend, the insanely rich Dodero. But of course this is always left out.

No over mentioned how wonderful her husband was to encourage her to do the things she did. At that time, if your husband didn't support you, you couldn't do anything by law. Kiddos to President Peron as well as First Lady Evita!!!

It's 100% fact that Eva Peron willed all her Earthly possessions to go into helping the poor.. That alone tells me that She was definitely Not a Hypocrite in my opinion..

Hi Age of Vintage, How are you? Eva Peron has always been a strong political figure in her country. She did help a lot of her fellow countryman in raising money for the very poor, almost children & women would probably not have survived if she had not helped to house them, & feed & clothe themselves. She campaigned to get the law into allowing Women the right to vote. She became more popular than her husband politically, with a huge following of her countries people. Very sad to have passed away at only 33 years of age. I think if she had lived longer she would have done even more for the people of Argentina & help them with better working conditions & better wages. Love Love from Australia 🇦🇺💖💛💜❤23.8.2020

This is very interesting and insightful, thank you for posting.

Seems there’s always controversy surrounding those leaders who create positive (and negative) change... our job is to discern the good leaders from the deceptive ones.
She was certainly a good one when we take into account not only her tireless work and achievements, but the era too and what she was up against. Even if she did enjoy quality and luxury, she never forgot where she came from and what it was like to be poor; she aspired to help those of her own kind.

After what I read last night of the tribulations that Alan Parker, Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber went through to get the film to exist that would make an amazing documentary
