the first thing to make once you have a rotary table are a set of MT2 tapers with accurately sized cylindrical holes, or a set of MT2 collets, so that you can position a centering pin in it, most of the things you'll be machining with a rotary table will have a hole in the center so you want to be able to drop it on the centering pin in the rotary.

the next thing you'll want are a couple "right hand cut left hand spiral" end mills for milling the OD of something that will tend to get pulled upwards with a regular end mill, this is especially helpful for thin material. these tables aren't all that good at resisting upward pull, but obviously are impervious to downward push.

what I want to know is what sort of run-out does the table have, I'm not talking about backlash, rather if the table isn't locked does it have any X-Y play, mine has about .001 play in the X-Y plane and I'd like to know if Vevor is better.

Vevor equipment is certainly good value for money. I’m sure the problems with it are only minor, and easily fixed. Nice thorough review Paul. Cheers

Hi Paul. Looks like it’s going to be a useful rotary table at a decent price. The side project to fit the dividing plates will be interesting viewing. Thank you for sharing. 👏👏👍😀

Interesting! Looking forward to your Clarkson lead screw and nut project! Have a Clarkson MKI that I re-scraped entirely and put a two speed pulley set up on to give it the speeds of a MKII. By the way the Clarkson spindle is noisy, I changed the bearings on mine for nothing! Cheers, Matthew

Rattling handles always bug me, but the fix is always easy, usually only needing a shoulder bolt and a bit of machining.
