  What a huge culture shock.  I’ve been to third world countries, but if I was a naive 22 year old trying to get through some crazy med school with no guidance, then seeing worms in water and fighting off wild dogs, would’ve been the last day I attended.   I hope you’ve recovered from your ordeal and I sure wish you well.  I only have one acquaintance who went to a Caribbean med school and he dropped out after a year or so.  He said it was the worst days of his life, and also no guidance, as you mentioned.   He said he felt very alone there.  I think he was at one of the top 4, I can’t remember which one.   I will not let my own kid apply to one.  Lessons learned!
