  Many years ago wild life shows would show raw footage. I remember watching a momma bear take down a huge moose. It was amazing how fast it took it down.

  I used to live in Jackson. I’d drive up to Lake Point Butte to watch the sunrise on the Tetons. I was back there in 2025. Up the road toward Sylvan Pass, along with a crowd of observers, we watched young grizzly along the ridge line foraging for food in the deadfall from the fires from years before. I’m capturing this with my phone’s video. All of a sudden the bear stands up looking down the ridge line toward the lake. He turns and takes of running chasing him are two wolves. While your description of the trend in deaths makes sense, the larger reality is that it was a human decision to protect the bears that ultimately created this scenario. The larger wildlife story is the growing relocation of wild animals into suburban and urban settings. I live in downtown Winston-Salem, NC, and there coyotes in my yard nightly. They are smaller than the ones in the West. Before living in Wyoming, in Western North Carolina where I lived, I had a coyote urinated on my front porch to let our two large dogs know whose territory it was. There are no absolute answers here. Only learning how to adapt as a different species.

  I was at Yellowstone back in the late 60s. Back then the Bears would come up to your car as you entered the park begging for food.<br>But I’ve never seen a grizzly out there
