The first time my Dad and I watched this movie together, he laughed so hard at the naked hotel scene that we literally had to take him to hospital next day because he had given himself a hernia.

The beauty is that most people in this film were fooled. They thought Borat was real.

All the reactions in this movie were genuine. Nobody in this movie was told this was a comedy. They all thought Borat was real. The only exception was Pamela Anderson. She was in on the joke, but none of her staff was told in advance, so their reactions were real too. By the way, Sasha Baron Cohen is Jewish, so all the antisemitic jokes were basically his commentary on antisemitism in society.

The coolest non-actor guy in this movie was definitely the driving instructor. He handled Borat’s antics perfectly 👌

I know 3 of the people who were in the Church service scene in Mississippi. While they were embarrassed they got tricked, it was good that they were nice the whole time, and never kicked him out or anything. “Borat” was filming with such a small crew. Often just a camera man, that it was really easy to sell the idea that they were making a low budget documentary for a foreign country. So they would sign releases before shooting, not knowing what it was about to turn into.
