I grew up right across the road on my Grandfather's dairy farm, HillCrest Dairies.
What a life, so beautiful with the stream cutting through the pasture, bullfrogs, turtles.... I even had my own pet cow!

I used to live about half mile from there. Now I'm about 4 miles away, I've been there once for some special event.

Just came across her story on a Chinese social media platform — told with great admiration by a well-known influencer. It made me want to know more about her and read her books. As I typed her name into YouTube, your post came up. It is lovely to see her resting place and know that it is so beautiful and peaceful. Thank you!

Pearl Buck was born in West Virginia, there is a roadside sign at the location.
For about 20 years i lived in a home i built on a property that had been owned by Pearl Buck within about 1/4 mile of her residence.
Welcome House road was named after the Welcome House where she housed the migrant children.

I've toured the PSB site twice and have read most of her 80 books. I really enjoyed your video and your narration as you explored the grounds and read the signs. Thank you!

What a beautiful house. Love all the sculptures and the beautiful grounds. I enjoy reading so I'll have to add that one to my list. I haven't read any Pearl Buck books before.

I lived within a half mile of this estate for almost twenty years on a parcel of land once owned by her on Welcome House road.

We have a connection since my wife volunteers in the gift shop. I'd highly recommend the home tour even for someone not familiar with her books. Preserved exactly as it was the day she died. We make it a point to bring out of state visitors there.
Fascinating woman.

Great video Jenn! Heard of Pearl S. Buck but never read anything by her (much to my book loving mother's chagrin 😊)...sounds like she led a pretty extraordinary life! Love the history of the property as well!! Explore on!
