Hi, a contributor to Ymir here - a Sega Saturn Emulator.

The Saturn is a wonderful and sadly often overlooked console, at least in the West that is. It is also batshit insane in its hardware setup (I often wonder how it even works at all, and I work on this thing)

It has a great library just waiting to be discovered: Radiant Silvergun, Sonic R, Panzer Dragoon, Sakura Wars, Princess Crown… I could go on and on.

To anyone wanting to, please give the console a shot. Spin up an Emulator, try some games, and see what it has to offer.

The Saturn is like a Greek tragedy. But like a Greek Tragedy, it will be remembered by someone.

I was a Saturn owner back in the 90s. My friend owned a Playstation and he always wanted to trade so he could play the Sega games that were not on Playstation. So we would swap consoles for a week on occasions. Pandamonium has some of the best Saturn videos out there.

I'll never forget walking into a Toys R Us in the 90s and playing the Saturn for the first time. Playing Virtua Fighter and seeing the headband of the Ninja fall off and remain on the stage throughout the entire match. It sounds silly now, but for the time, it felt like a turning point for video games.

I like to believe there's a timeline where Saturn was more successful and Phantasy Star 5 exists

 River.
It's 'Wrinkle River Story'.
In English we would be more likely to say a 'Winding River' rather than a 'Wrinkled River'.
'A story with twists and turns like a winding river.'
They took that concept in Japanese, roughly translated it into English, and the rest is history.

Holy graphics... 94/95 release date? Wow. That's insane.
Born in 1990, at that time of release, I was still playing NES, SNES, Sega Master system... Wow. That's just so cool

The rich, vibrant colors of Sega games for the Saturn and Dreamcast are so beautiful and evocative of the era
