I can't express to you how popular this song was back in the early eighties. I have it on vinyl!

I remember this being a huge hit in the UK, number 1 on the charts. I was 10 years old and was obsessed with it, I bought the single (45).

Most people don't realize this is a cover song from The Mighty Diamonds Pass Kutchi (which is indeed weed) how does it feel when you got no Herb. M.Y. said Dutchie which is a cooking pot, how does it feel when you got no food. because they couldn't have kids singing about weed.

Great tune this, British artists of Caribbean etc ancestry were absolutely bossing it in the 80’s.

Because of the wind rush generation coming to London in the 50s reggae was really popular in the 70s 80s and 90s here.

a solid cover song from the 80s. a cleaned up version originally about weed, children sing about food. Mighty Diamonds original gave an easy template for this hit.

Did you notice what is behind them? This was filmed in England. You see: Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, River Thames & Lambeth Bridge.
