Home based business 100% agreed. I am working on my idea while I am still working until I retire.

Great video Lane! We did exactly as you suggest. Bought a small business that pays us back about 50% of what we paid for it each year, with only a 2-5 hour a week involvement. We have also kept one rental property owned since we first married. Now paid off, it provides an excellent monthly income. Finally we started a plant nursery business before retiring. Now it provides a very nice income.

Though we also saved up a nice nest egg, we likely won’t need it. We have income! Our channel is all about starting a retirement, backyard plant nursery. Thanks, as always for the excellent videos, Larry

Great video! So many people are full of “Ya…but…” like a person I know. Every time we girls suggest a job or options, she says “ya, but…”. Thank goodness she’s not a close friend, just an acquaintance. When I retired in 2022, I was wondering what I could do to work. I just couldn’t work part time as a nurse anymore. My friend help me brainstorm and she found me animal sitting! I love it. It’s not daily, just busy in summer up to Christmas. But I love it. And, I just picked up a client for every other weekend for her dog who has seizures. I’m not afraid of illness or seizures in animals.

When I needed to replace a chunk of retirement funds used to repair my roof (HOA complaint), I was desperate to find something I could do on my schedule, not some retail boss' schedule. I was nearly resigned to p/t work at Burger Doodle's, when I remembered an obscure investment strategy I used in 2010, which made $3K with very little risk.
I decided to see if that strategy could work longer term, and it's now been 4 yrs and I average $500/mo trading from home.
The roof repair was paid off after 20 months, and I just continued to trade to supplement my Soc. Sec.
So far, so good. My charities got an increase, and I'm building a buffer for the next HOA shock.

Social Security alone was never designed to cover everything in retirement, so finding creative ways to bring in extra income is just smart planning. #Believe - Team Evan Carmichael

Great ideas for earning extra money in retirement!

I'm also an Empty Nester stay-at-home Mom, who wondered what to do once the kids moved out.

I stumbled upon a video on how to start an Online Business, spent time researching/learning about it, then launched my website/blog.

My mission is to share what I've learned to help other Empty Nester Moms to do the same. It starts with brainstorming, as you mentioned.

With today's technology, there are so many possibilities to make money!

Choose a niche (topic) and start a blog as the foundation, then earn money through Google Adsense, affiliate marketing via the Amazon Associates Program and many other companies' affiliate programs, sell digital products--ebooks and courses with knowledge/experience gained over the years. Sell physical products that can be created with print-on-demand and sold on various platforms.

Other ideas are to provide coaching services, start a membership, a podcast, and a YouTube channel.

So many opportunities...I just wish they were available years ago, so I could have started earlier, but it's never too late! 😊
