  When I was about eight I built an electric motor for a science fair. &nbsp;It was kind of fun. &nbsp;I guess I learned a little bit by doing it because I didn’t have any help outside of a book I used as a guide. &nbsp;But I heard that some girl and her father built the shell of an atomic bomb for her science fair although it didn’t have the fuel necessary to make it live. &nbsp;That must’ve raised quite a stir. &nbsp;But if I were there and saw it I think I would’ve started laughing — well until I realized how easy it might be for nearly anyone to do it.

  At <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDSGWd0TSBA&amp;t=305">5:05</a> in the video: The portion of the copper winding in axial motor that is circumferential (the innermost &amp; the outermost parts &nbsp;of the turns) may be in magnetic field, but like the winding end-turns in radial flux motor, do not contribute to torque &amp; dissipate power just like radial flux motor. &nbsp;Only the portions of the coils perpendicular to the MOTION contribute to useful torque.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;While a larger portion of the winding contributes to torque, the price paid is the inability to overlap coils. &nbsp;In any region of the motor, there can be only 1 phase. &nbsp;This reduces by a factor of 3, the amount of copper windings that can be put in a motor of a given size.

  Electric vehicles of every sort must carry their starting weight for the entire journey. Internal combustion enginges become way more efficient as they consume their power source (gas), because it becomes lighter.😮
