The first law of thermodynamics states;- We can not creat energy, we can not destroy energy, all we can do is convert energy.<br>This law states that the energy is waiting for us to convert to electricity when and where ever we want and does not need any special magnet to do that.

Magnets are how we have always created electricity. The issue is you must spin a rotor thru the flux lines to break them. That is when current is produced. It also requires force to spin the rotor quickly and continuously.

When I was a kid, I had imagined building exactly this - a perpetual motor based on clever positioning of permanent magnets. Though I never really designed and tested it. But nevertheless, it's interesting to know that people had similar thoughts and it might have some serious potential.

The basis of electrical generation is a conductor moving through a magnetic field. This video deals with the magnetic side of the equation. The other side includes superconductors, but also, more importantly, enhanced conductors, "Let not the perfect be the enemy of the good!"
