The Philips CD 960 and CD 880 are still the most analog sounding CD players I've ever heard.
Nowadays, many amplifiers have a built-in DAC, Philip did it back in the late 80s - the DFA 888 and DFA 1000

I have had and still have many Philips products since the 80s. All of them were fantastic!

I worked at Philips in the 1990's until the early 2000's.
When they introduced their motto "Let's Make Things Better" the sarcastic version was "Let's Make Better Things."

Very informative, thank you! I worked for Philips in Eindhoven as an engineering student in 1971. I worked in the pre-development group in building SK2. It was a fantastic experience, I learned so much which was extremely valuable for me later in my career. I remember the great canteen with Dutch/Indonesian food and great beer!

i also grew up with my grandmother listening to a big philips radio without Fm bought in late 40´s if memory doesn´t fail me but the style was very ahead in design , wood of diferent kinds and aluminium , this i can´t lif it alone , it is a very well known style but now it vanished from my mind , art-deco it shined a light on my brain, neighboors in the 60´s and early 70´s used to dress well and visit my grandparents as we were the only to have TV a shaub-Lorenz with very expensive today finishings and was the biggest screen at the time as the same used to happen in the 40´s with the radio , we were a very undeveloped country , and much more in the interior

Philips had whitegoods here in Australia during the 1980’s, we had one of their Super Chill refrigerators and it was a great fridge, they won the Australian Design Award for practicality and design features.
