  It’s honestly so sad because Nuka spent his whole life neglected and ignored from the moment he was born he always wanted to be the heir Scar and Zira were proud of but it never happened because they saw him as weak, spineless, brainless, stupid and not very smart which is what he kinda is but you gotta understand that Nuka had a motive here anyways flash forward to when Kovu is brought into his life and when you think about it both Scar and then later Zira completely idolised Kovu seeing him as both a capable ruler and a strong lion that Scar then chose as his heir and Nuka hated that which is why he constantly despised Kovu and was jealous of him and literally hated Scar for choosing Kovu instead of him and not seeing why Kovu was chosen as his heir and to become the future king because Scar wasn’t even his father and just took him in after Zira adopted him or gave birth to him. Nuka then spent his whole life being second bested to Kovu and as his little brother grew up in the Outlands around him and Vitani all Nuka was was thrown aside, neglected and ignored by everyone including Vitani who he used to taunt and annoy just to get close to her. He always craved love from his mother and always wanted to impress her and to show her that he could be a leader if she’d just give him a chance because as he put it he was the oldest, the strongest and the smartest lion amongst others in the Outlands and the Outsiders in his pride which apart from being the oldest of the two siblings being true the rest wasn’t true. As time went on he even tried his best to assist and help Zira in her revenge against Simba but it was never enough for Zira and she continued to ignore and neglect him right up until the ambush on Simba. Nuka gave it his all still to prove his mother that he could be something and wanted to show her that he could destroy Simba. When Kovu fled after Zira ordered him to get Simba and kill him Nuka then really stepped up his game saying he’d do it for his mother instead this time he was determined to make her proud of him and finally get the respect and love that he deserved and always craved and Zira shocked by this not expecting it secretly wished that Nuka would do it. As Nuka bragged up the cliff he carefully climbed after Simba after all he was doing it for both Zira and for himself. But all hope was lost for Nuka when he finally thought he could pull and grab Simba and kill him but he found himself weak and wasn’t strong enough to do it and was surprised and shocked when his paws slipped on the logs and the log he was on slipped right out from under him and he fell tumbling down the steep log cliff only hearing Zira yelling “no!” As he fell he then got caught and slightly crushed under a big log, unable to escape and was crushed and buried alive by logs that Simba had pushed down towards him while trying to escape the Outsiders. And in that moment when Zira rushes jn in a desperate attempt quickly but forcefully shoving Kovu out of the way to quickly remove the logs we finally see a scene for Nuka that he always wanted a and craved just one precious moment where he can be with his mother and experience her being there but it was too late. Zira watched horrified as the son she had neglected for too long died in her paws in front of her quietly calling out his name before Nuka spoke his final dying words to her “I’m sorry mother.. I tried” Zira not wanting to hear anymore shushed him as she held him in her paw that she reached down in an attempt to comfort him showing him that his determination to finish Simba off and make her proud wasn’t in vein or for nothing. Nuka then looks up at her forcing a small smile finally happy that his mother is by his side at least before muttering some final words “well, I finally got your attention didn’t I?” He then sees a small saddened smile on Zira who is proud of him for trying his best (the deleted scene granted it’s not included but still it adds to the scene that Zira truly did care and was proud in that moment that he at least tried) and before he can say anything else other than “I…” he slowly dies and slips away in Zira’s arms. And Zira both shocked and saddened never expecting herself to feel this way slowly pulls her paw away from her son and gazes down at his dead body regretting everything she had done and said to him, in her eyes Nuka had sacrificed himself to try and prove his worth to her and she had just let it happen not believing that he would storm up the log cliff after Simba. Nuka had tried to make her proud and gain her love and that was all he ever wanted. Realising this she wept over him in his presence feeling both guilt and remorse for not paying attention to him deep down inside that cold and dark vengeful heart of hers Zira really and truly did love Nuka maybe even more than she loved Kovu, especially now. Vitani who had came beside her saddened by the whole scene quietly muttered his name before bowing her head in sadness she had loved Nuka her whole life and had grown up with him her brother meant the world to her and grief began to take over as she said nothing and bowed her head. Nuka died not knowing that his mother loved him because Zira was always blinded by training Kovu Scar’s heir and never gave him the time of day. Zira then spoke aloud so everyone could hear, although Scar never cared for Nuka and was always disappointed in him she felt Nuka should be in and go to a better place just like Scar and spoke to her beloved once again “Scar.. watch over my poor Nuka” was all that was said. And through it all even Kovu felt slightly guilty for his brothers death looking down in sadness feeling sorry for Zira and the rest.<br><br>It’s honestly heartbreaking that Nuka dies with his mother finally loving him and genuinely being sad that she’s losing her son because deep down she loved Nuka but was too blinded by her love for Scar and his ambition for Kovu to succeed.

  Nuka had no friends in the Lion King universe unlike Vitani and Kovu. Moreover, he hated Simba and Kovu and would do anything including dangerous acts to get them off his illegitimate throne birthright in order to honor Scar and please Zira.
