Actually the saddest moment is when Carmine dies, he was only 73 years old, just a kid

Phil Leotardo’s death was so satisfying. Say Bye bye, Pop Pop. Pop. Pop.

The saddest death was the gabagool, provolone, and vinegar pepper sandwich that Tony threw in the trash after only taking one bite out of it

despite all his faults, I give David Chase a lot of credit for not glamorizing the mobster lifestyle.

for every minute he and the writers spent making the characters likeable, they spent double making them look UNlikeable.

Excellent analysis of all these characters.

AJ is a character that so many people seem to hate so much because he's annoying, spoiled and entitled. Yeah, he is spoiled and entitled. But truth be told, he's more relatable than a lot of people think. Reason most fans hate him is because they fail to realize that at one point, they were just like him when they were younger. He's a product of his environment because his parents are Tony and Carmela Soprano.

Every time AJ thought independently, aspired to something, and spoke intelligently making valid points, Tony and Carmela immediately shut him down. AJ makes a comment; Tony dismisses it and that's the end of it.

In the episode "D-Girl", Big Pussy seemed fatherlier of AJ teaching him to respect the value of things and giving him some sage advice more than Tony ever did. AJ never had a voice in anything because whenever he was brought some place, they told him to wait outside. AJ didn't want to go fishing, Tony out of pettiness, spite, and immaturity, misses his swimming competition on purpose.

The worst thing that Tony ever did to AJ was not yanking him out of bed (The Blue Comet), or the smack (Army of One), it was the "male heir" comment. Carmela called him an animal when she and Tony caught him smoking pot in the garage, something that she denied when AJ was in therapy with Tony and Carmela.

He never had a chance.

Melfi should have told Tony, not just for revenge but to protect the next woman or girl her attacker will go after. Also in Johnny Sack's case I think he might have gotten the best ending possible for a mob guy, he was surrounded by the people he loved who genuinely loved him back and he didn't have to waste years in jail.
