You did your Grizzly lathe a big favor replacing those bearings.

I appreciate your honest and humble attitude ! There are a few "Youtubers" that I find almost unwatchable BECAUSE THEY ARE ARROGANT...oh well...Thanks for the content....I will keep this video in the back of my mind whenever I have a motor apart ! Mark C.

I named one of my breaker bars Big Bertha. When it time to loosen a problem nut or bolt I get out Big Bertha.

I had a blower motor not work in my truck. Instead of buying a new motor I decided to try to fix it. Took it apart and saw that the brushes were seized in their slots. Hit them with WD40 and cleaned them up. Motor works great now.

Great video. Watched the whole thing. Troubleshooting is sometimes a road with many forks ...and f'ks 😂🤣

I had the same motor, after taking it apart a few times I found that the pressed on centrifugal switch was moving up on the shaft, I finally bought a 2hp 3 phase motor and a 3hp drive. best thing I have done

Glad to hear you got it sorted. On my similar lathe, that never ran fine in reverse, they managed to mess up the wiring. Also took me a few hours to figure out the start and run capacitor. Mine works with a start relais to desingage the run cap. The relais is fed by the primairy winding that pulls down the voltage at startup so the relais only works when the motor gets up to speed.

A good example of why, if you have room, the lathe should be 12-18 inches away from a wall. It makes service and cleaning so much easier.

Great video !!!! Been eyeballing this exact lathe. Great info. Personally I believe you should have replaced all those bearings as you did, because you do know where it is made ! LOL Again, great job
