  I've been and camped there.  Blew a gas line halfway in, patched it with an old tire patch I found in the glove box and a ridiculous amount of zip ties.  Made it back to the closest town of Weymouth and sputtered into the gas station at closing time.  Guy there stayed open for me long enough to gas up while a local farmer went home and brought back everything I needed to do a proper patch. Despite that the trip is definitely one of my favorite abandoned Nova Scotia adventure memories.   I've visited many abandoned places like this throughout my home province that would make great content for this channel.

  For some reason, this makes me more sad than your other ghost town stories. Other towns died when their industry dried up, or for other economic reasons; it felt like they lived their natural lifespans. This place just...died

  It's funny, just last month @NorthernScavenger visited this place on one of his outings and it instantly brought you to mind as being right up your alley. Great to see the focus on history here vs the focus on the outdoors/back country with his video.

  Thanks very much for this. I was at New France about fifteen years ago, at the time I found it difficult to picture all that was there in the past as the forest had taken over much of the site. This documentary did much to help tell the story.

  Once again, you have done such a beautiful job of telling the whole tale as much as it can be told with what we know. &nbsp;It&apos;s hard not to really feel the heartache that must have befallen them with the loss of the railroad and then the very thing they sought to escape taking their kids from them. &nbsp;It was such a unique achievement to have built what they did, and sad that it was lost (sadder still that arson, of all things, claimed so much of the remaining artefacts). &nbsp;I love old history like that though; anytime I find some very old abandoned, barely recognizable thing, I wonder what it&apos;s history was. &nbsp;Getting to know <i>this</i> particular one was a whole community with a huge backstory is so neat. &nbsp;If I ever get out to Nova Scotia in that area, I&apos;ll definitely want to pay the centre a visit; and I hope they can acquire more stuff from the era too.
