  The beauty about tinned food is, you don&apos;t need to cook it as its already cooked. Excellent if you have no power.

  Can I just add, that if you’re getting stuff in home bargains. Pick up a couple big bags of mini marshmallows, a great moral booster, especially for the kids☺️

  They opened a tin of Bully Beef from Scott&apos;s Antarctic hut, over 100 years old, apparently it was<br>edible, but the lead used in the tin had contaminated the meat. Personally I had a can of coke in 2020 from 1984, it was given to me by my mother in law, and I&apos;d drunk most of before I realised, it was actually better tasting &nbsp;than the current coke!!!

  In case anyone is wondering about rice ...when I moved from London to east Anglia I bought with me a 5 litre container of white rice ...that was ten years ago &nbsp;and I&apos;m just working my way through it now to restock. It tastes and cooks up as though I bought it yesterday and right now big bags of basmati are very cheap in tesco where I normally shop .Mixed with veg and chicken stock with a few fried onions and a tin of chicken...perfect and filling.<br>Great vid Charlie.<br>Gilly wife of Mark

  For me I would also add Marmite - good range of vitamins and adds flavour to a soup or stew. It has a high salt content, so will last for decades unopened. Marmite is particularly useful for a vegan diet as it contains B12 - which does not occur naturally in most plant based foods.<br><br><br>I also have a vacuum sealer – great for splitting bulk buy items into smaller, manageable quantities that will last longer in the airtight plastic bag.

  Large boxes of Twinings Tea have four sealed foil bags inside - keeps the tea fresher longer.<br><br>Add flour to the list and learn to make flatbread in a pan.
