  I am so saddened by this case. It hits home for me personally,  and I cannot help but think this could have been me. The side effects of one of these drugs ended me up in ICU, let alone the multitude of the many prescribed. Horrible how this woman was failed, and the ones who paid the price were her innocent children.

  I've worked on psychiatric wards (in the UK) for over a year. My impression is that since it is a multi-disciplinary team, the observations completed tend to rely on the amount of staff available, their qualifications, and expertise. On Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU), patient supervision, safety and treatment are prioritised. Predicting someone's behaviour after being discharged can be extremely challenging.

  I would never take anyone to this psychiatrist. Incompetent about care and treatment. Nothing Bi-polar what so ever.

  I am bipolar. You should never prescribe Zoloft (or Prozac or Wellbutrin) to anyone with the bipolar disorder. I lost my career because someone prescribed both Prozac and Zoloft. My "mania" was exacerbated and I was disruptive to coworkers. The people that I worked for made sure that I would never work again. As such, I have been unemployed for over 25 yrs. I am not comfortable with this doctor's assessment. She is too confused.

  Lots of armchair psychiatrists in the comments. Sounds like the care she provided was pretty standard and sounds like Lindsey was of sound mind and a reliable historian as a patient. Also the attorneys questions were not yes or no questions. When you work in health care you quickly learn that the answer is often ‘it depends’

  I hope this testimony demonstrates her incompetence and that she loses her job. She constantly contradicted herself and could barely articulate herself or understand questions. Clearly working FOR the state and industry but completely embarrassed herself, and the prosecution.

  A pychiatrist who does not know what the MMPI is ridiculous.  Every psychiatrist is trained in psychological testing.
