Became a foster care dad of a 4mo boy when I was 49.
I can tell that he had been the single factor that has made me still strong and kicking. I am hitting 57 end of the year. Kid turned 8. Vitamin D has been a key along with ubiquinol.

I turned 50 earlier this year and can relate with the drops in strength and energy levels, among other things. But, I don't mind getting older. I don't try to fight, reverse, or otherwise change things. I accept my aging, am grateful for the medical and public health advances that have increased life expectancy, and am happy to report zero decline in happiness. In fact, I seem to get more content with age as I look back at my accomplishments and am very grateful for all I have. Don't fight the tide; ride it!

My changes were at 44 and 56, so far. It's like stepping off a cliff. I'm maintaining, and building, capacity by daily exercise, among other things. Exercise every day. No days off. Change the exercise everyday, but never a day off.

I am 73 and have not noticed any decline yet. I still do a lot of hard hikes and mountain biking. I only need 1 or 2 days rest between hikes. I am a lacto-vegetarian; I don't eat meat but drink whey protein isolate. I use rubber bands for resistance training at home. Consistency is important. You need to exercise regularly and I do it year round.

Being in my 50s I feel better and stronger than in my earlier years. But this is because a year ago I decided to change the way I eat, live and approach life as a result severe personal perturbations. I could have either change something OR keep declining and eventually die.

Thanks to YT channels like yours or Dr Alex I found ways that work for me and helped me to get back on track and regain control of my life

I was decades into road cycling that I think I overdid it. Cardiovascular fitness is amazing. However I realised now the fact that its low impact, little upper body engagement and unidirectional nature have their disadvantages. I fell hit the ground and broke my rib. Never broke ribs whilst playing rugby. I have cut down cycling and hitting the weights again. Never felt stronger in a long time. I don’t mind losing some of those cycling endurance. Resistance training and muscle mass is a must as age catches up
