  My nephew had this exact same thing happen to him by a quick lube place. He made it about a 100 miles down the road before the engine locked up. This is why, even though I am in my eighties, I have always done my own oil changes. I&apos;m the only person I trust to do the job correctly. <br>Thanks for sharing your videos. 👍

  This is why I do my own oil changes. &nbsp;I spend way WAY less and I don&apos;t have to worry about a quick-0lube killing my engine.

  I worked at a 10minute lube shop. I am a trained certified Automotive technician but some of the people I worked with &nbsp;it felt more like babysitting, the amount of double checking i had to do before I released the car back to the customer. Needless to say I stopped working there long ago.<br>This video is heartbreaking because someone trusted someone that couldn&apos;t do their &nbsp;job.

  Having worked at Honda’s main engine plant in Ohio for nearly 30 years where millions of engines have been built, it was fascinating to watch one being torn apart after such damage. This is my first time watching your videos and I think it’s great!

  My now 91 year old Dad, took the time to teach me everything. &nbsp;By working me. &nbsp;If i did all the &quot;chore&quot; work well. I could then do the enjoyable wrench work. He won as i grew older and became productive. I won on everything. &nbsp;Just didnt know it at the time. &nbsp;He always said &quot; If you want it done right, better do it yourself. &quot; &nbsp;Good luck out there finding reputable autoservice. Some bad out there, no different than the rest of the world.

  Ugh, brings back painful memories. Forty years ago when I did my own oil changes, I opted to change the oil on my new Audi 4000 CS quattro at 1000 miles. The oil filter apparently was defective and was not as easy to spin on as I thought it should be. Still I got it tight, started the car and it all looked OK. 20 miles later, flashing lights and and an audible alert told me there was an oil problem. I knew enough to immediately stop and shut off the engine. A line of oil on the road and an oil soaked filter housing showed what the problem was. I was panicked with the possibility of serious engine damage. Fortunately, my quick shutting off the engine and sturdiness of the Audi 5 cylinder resulted in no harm done except to my pride lol. Twelve years later, I sold the car with 160,000 miles on it and never an engine problem.

  Quick-lube story here too, thankfully not fatal; got oil changed in the old Taurus, came home and parked it, came out later to do something and found large puddle of oil spreading out from under. Called aforementioned QL business, owner came by and gave everything the once-over, saw the drain-plug was loose. Got up under and snugged it, gave me a fresh quart of oil to put in and told me to bring it back over and he&apos;d fix it himself. Was as good as his word.<br><br>Still never went back, tho. 😑

  As the owner of a 2023 Honda Hybrid (CRV), this hits close to home. I&apos;m an old boomer who used to change his own oil once a car came out of warranty, but no more. I&apos;ve been to those quick oil change places, but they just have a bad vibe for me. So either I change my oil, or I have a trusted mechanic do it. This just reinforced that ethos in the strongest possible way. Longtime watcher of your videos, I&apos;ve learned a lot, although I rarely do a deep dive into engines anymore. Sometimes while watching, I can almost smell that mix of antifreeze, oil and WD40 of a well run garage.
