This is the first time I've heard of Ren and now I'm hooked!
This song had dramatic elements like I was watching not just a music video but a monologue in a theatre performance.
He speaks, sings & raps very deep topics which are for those who go deeper and that's what I love ❤️
You broke down this so well! Can't wait to see which song you do this week coming!😊💜✨️

It's not been played widely because Ren is independent, and he believes that word of mouth and the reaction community will win the long game. perhaps not as big a.fan.base as. A label would give him, but he has an army of Renegades who would take a bullet for him

Ren is Welsh but lives in Brighton. Suffers from chronic Lyme disease and Bartonella and autoimmunity and brain damage from years of misdiagnosis. Just recently well enough to do 5 concerts in May with his band The Big Push, all solds out including 5,000 at Brixton.
TRY Sick Boi please.

Welcome to the Reniverse. Just subbed from England. Ren would make a great addition to your Channel, musically he can do it all. His creativity, versatility & storytelling is unmatched. He covers every genre of Music in his own unique way. Sick Boi would make a good follow on song. If you want to find out more about Ren as a person he has a 1 Million Subscribers video. Ren was born in Wales, but lives in Brighton, on the South Coast of England.

Ren is incredibly open and honest, willing to share his struggles (both mental & physical) and also so happy to share his joy and hope. This might sound odd but if you choose to go down the Ren rabbit hole something, or multiple somethings, in his discography will strike you in a way that nothing ever has before and you won’t ever be the same. He’s deep songs are powerful. He’s fun songs are a joy. He’s uplifting songs are lifesavers. ❤

RENegade here! You've stumbled across an exceptional artist who defies genre. He does them all! Ren sings, raps, plays guitar, bass, piano, melodica, and some drums. He is a brilliant lyricist and storyteller and has been making his own beats and selling them at music festivals since he was 12. He also produces his own music, and directs, acts, and edits his videos.

Ren has a huge catalog of many types of music, so I'm going to suggest some songs that are quite different from each other so you can explore his range.

Hi Ren. I enjoyed your reaction to this! Hi Ren is his breakout hit with over 73 million views last time I checked. Be sure to check the comments for one by RenMakesMusic that starts with, “Up until I was 9 years old.” In it he explains what the song means to him.

Sick Boi - This is a good follow-up to Hi Ren. Ren suffers from Lyme Disease but was misdiagnosed for 7 years, so didn't know it. (His chronic health problems inspire much of his music.) This is the title song to his second album, which was the #1 album in the UK when it debuted in October 2023. Ren is a fiercely independent artist, so beating out albums by Drake and Rick Astley was an amazing feat.

For rap, try The Hunger, Genesis, Seven Sins, Illest of Our Time, Wicked Ways or Fire in the Booth.

For his spectacular singing voice, check out Back on 74, Fred Again mashup, or Down the Road by Inpatient (the collab Ren did with Chris Webby and Webby’s producer JP.) Chalk Outlines and How to Be Me with Chinchilla are both beautiful, but haunting.

Ren has some lighter, fun songs as well, including Humble, Power, Murderer (both official and live acoustic), Loco (entirely a cappella), Bittersuite Symphony, Ocean, and The Mashup - Trick the Fox (baby Ren from 2012).

The Big Push - You can't go wrong with any of the videos Ren does with the busking band he is in. Maybe start with I Shot the Sheriff/ Road to Zion / Hip Hop (make sure all 3 songs are in the title - this will be the red suspenders version many Renegades request). I also love Englishman in New York, Praise You, and the 2019 version of Wade in the Water / Nina Simone / Trouble So Hard.

The Big Push is also a great place to turn if you want something lighter and more uplifting. Busking is Ren’s happy place, and he thrives on it! The Big Push started out doing covers but have original music as well. All 4 guys are excellent musicians!

For something else completely different, Ren has done a series of “tales” that are like mini-movies. They are storytelling at its finest with cinema-quality filming. When you are selecting songs to react to, * be sure to avoid any that have “tales” in the title *. Each one builds upon the prior tales, so they are best watched in order. The Renegades will guide you.

When you are ready to start them, the first 3 can be found in a 13-minute video called The Tale of Jenny and Screech. Be forewarned that the subject matter of the first 3 is pretty dark.

Subscribed! Enjoy your journey down the Ren rabbit hole!
