For the second animatic, basically Calypso TOOK Odysseus's wedding ring because she wanted him to forget about his wife and fall in love with her. And when Odysseus moves his finger, that's him asking Calypso to give him back his wedding ring, which Calypso REFUSES to do, and that's why Ody tears up.

9:26 an interpretation I’ve heard is that Ody already had a raft ready from previous failed escape attempts. It’s never stated canonically, but a common interpretation of how the island works is that if anyone tries to leave without the gods’ permission, the waves will just keep pushing them back.

The first animatic made me feel like Odysseus had some positive feeling's for Calypso. The second animatic made me feel like Odysseus greatly disliked Calypso. And the third animatic made me feel like Odysseus didn't hate Calypso, but was pretty much neutral about her and said "I love you" just to comfort her, but didn't actually have those feeling's.

One thing I find SO good and so fascinating about Maevethefea's animatic is that Calypso is confronting Odysseus, almost like she's saying 'what did you EXPECT me to do?!' and is almost aggressive at points! And the hickey/bruise on Odysseus' neck sent CHILLS down my spine the first time I saw, especially when she says 'if I pushed you' and he covers it! And the way Odysseus nearly cries when she forces him to hug her, like his 'I love you' was a desperate attempt to placate her just to get her off, then he steadies himself and says the 'but not in the way that you want me to' line which seems to piss Calypso off and she freaking PUNCHES him! Like GEEZ girl!! Anyway, I love the animatic SO much! I think I still have it as my pick for my playlist of my favorite animatics for each song!

18:07 she used magic to take odyssey ring probably because she doesn’t like or want to accept that he’s married

Maeve's animatic portraits Calypso in a way that makes her seem like she's either making up or exaggerating her story as Odysseus goes on, her expressions and body language make her come off as mean and manipulative and I loved it

1 thing I love about Britt's animatic is that Ody just let's Calypso touch him, like he's given up on trying to argue with her about it, too tired to stop her.

MarvetheFae's animatic is the one in my personal playlist. The way she portrays Odysseus's complete disinterest for ANYTHING Calypso has to say. The bruises on his neck that allude to what she's been doing to him. When Ody taps and then wags his ring finger at her because she stole his wedding ring and refuses to give it back. That hits me. Because it happened to me in high school. Wasnt a wedding ring but a girl in class stole one of my rings and blackmailed me into walking her home and then agreeing to be her boyfriend. She held my ring for a week before i managed to get it back. Then, broke up with her immediately. Years later, when i did get into a relationship with someone i did like. That ring thief confronted my then girlfriend and threatened her. A "he was mine first" moment. So yea. I hold no sympathy for Calypso or people like her.

The bruise? On Ody’s neck in Maeve’s animation is a really good detail and use of visual storytelling. The way he flinches and touches it in the beginning.

BrittPowwPixel finally getting the credit they deserve is so encouraging to see. People should go and check out their older animatics as well especially: Monster, Thunder Bringer, Scylla, Suffering, Different Beast, God Games, There Are Other Ways, and No Longer You. They are the animator who has put in tbe most effort and made the most animatics, but has gotten the least recognition.

Also everyone needs to go and watch MaevetheFae's We'll Be Fine animatic for the best Athena design there is.
