I love how genuinely nice the dad's wife Emily is to Buddy. She's just like "This guy's kinda nuts, but he's family."<br>"You smell like beef and cheese." And "You sit on a throne of lies." Are so iconic.

Can we seriously acknowledge how wonderful of a person Buddy’s step mom is. Seriously. She doesn’t show anger toward Buddy for being a secret child of her husband, it doesn’t cause unneeded conflict. It’s insane

Super interesting thing about this movie is that they used optical illusions, not CGI, to make Will Ferrell look so big at the workshop. Look it up, really cool stuff!

Fun fact, the actor who played Buddy’s dad Walter totally broke character when Buddy screams in the doctor visit, you can see him turn his back to the camera to hide it

One of my favourite Christmas movies and family traditions. No matter how many times we’ve seen this movie, my dad always cracks up at “call me elf one more time”. And every time I leave the house, I tell my dog “bye buddy. Hope you find your dad”. <br>Also highly recommend The Santa Clause if you haven’t seen it.

To this day, I still say "Bye Buddy, I hope you find your Dad".

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aefblP2elag&t=545">9:05</a> That guy was not an actor, just a random New Yorker. Will Ferrell just went up to him. His reaction is real 😂

And Santa Claus is played by Ed Asner, aka “Carl Fredricksen” from the movie “UP.”
