I'm not a man of words, but it's wonderful that everyone doing the comments speak for me and explain our thoughts and answers perfectly.
Love from Scotland Roger ❤

Roger. I'm in love with not you, but who you are. Your presence is simply profoundly comforting. Sitting silently on your boat with you sounds like it would be one of the most perfect moments of my life. Cheers <3

Dear Roger, I always (always!) enjoy your videos, to the point that they inspired me to acquire my own Graham Byrnes-designed 16 footer and am now working my way into micro-cruising (after a past life as an ocean sailor, a condition from which I now find myself in remission). But there was something about this latest addition that resonated especially. The thing is, you often make it look so EASY. Things generally go according to plan, and go well. In this episode, however, I recognized several of the major plot points as being much more like my own typical stories: Act 1, total miscalculation. Immediate fight for survival, followed by radical recalculation / alteration of plans - sometimes this involves considerable waiting/boredom. Act 2, new assessment, during which it becomes apparent that at least part of the initial plan is still viable, if only I'm willing to accept... A FEW MORE BRIEF MOMENTS OF SHEER TERROR. This leads to some approximation of the original plan, which is all generally nice and makes the earlier negative aspects of the voyage feel worth it. Usually concluding with Act 3, total miscalculation (needing to trailer a dry boat). For someone who goes through this cycle nearly every time out (including crossing oceans), there was a wonderful sense of identification and commiseration. Thank you, as always, for sharing!

Despite having to be looking out for yourself rather than filming, you managed to capture the what an ocean swell is like for a small boat. Love the seagull. Just the job sometimes

One thing I noticed about dinghy cruising is it suits any age group. I see a lot of men and women who are in retirement or near retirement age. That is very reassuring. It fills all those boxes of things to do to keep us active!

Lovely film, very aptly named. The peace of that lush riverbank mooring and little town, and the pleasure of simple French fare cooked on board, has me planning my next boat and next year's cruise. The opening minutes with those daunting swells surging on unstoppably, remind me I don't want anything that can capsize!

Amazing, saves me taking my boat for a sail. Just have a beer and watch Roger make all the effort.

Roger, that's not just an engine, it's a Seagull. And as many know it's smarter and more passive aggressive than all of us!

Love the seagull, if we can't hear the sound of sailing, the seagull is easily the next best thing. 😅
