Kinda fun to see the AI did everything to setup a wallpaper and then chokes on setting a fucking config.
It then attempted to set the wallpaper using the IPC and then just said: "Nah, I am overcomplicating this."
It's like running a full marathon and just before the finish line, take a detour to run around the planet.

I specifically switched to Linux to avoid having AI in my OS from install. Gonna steer clear of Omarchy, no matter who throws funds at it.

Most people moved to Linux to avoid the AI stuff on their OS, but Omarchy feels like it's giving the AI way more access than Microsoft, with the way it's worded.
I personally don't want something randomly controlling my PC, not stating the various possible security, privacy and functionality concerns (in case there's breach, backdoor, bug causing the AI to do X, Y, Z.)

It was an opinionated one until roughly 13million dollars were put in and it turned into an agentic one

The real issue isn't whether Omarchy is good or bad. It's who has authority over your machine.
Convenience is fine. Automation is fine. AI agents are fine.
But whenever software gains the ability to act on your behalf, the question should be:

"Who gave you permission?"

If you own the machine, you should control the rules. You should be able to inspect, change, revoke, or replace what the software does.
That's the real promise of FOSS: don't trust authority—verify it, and keep the power in your own hands.

The whole “agentic” descriptor for the OS already gave me buzzword abuse red flags, but all I needed to hear to know this was gonna be some heavily forced and astroturfed bullshit system that sucks use, was that it’s made by the same guy as Ruby on Rails. Have genuinely never had a good experience working with it in dev contexts. It ALWAYS inserts errors where there aren’t actually any functional issues and NEVER gives you a full list of them. Just forces you to recompile over and over fixing one of its package versioning nitpicks every. Single. Attempt. Absolute dogshit.
