  So, original investigation didn't bother checking alibi of boarder but blamed the mother instead. Who led that investigation? Inspector Clouseau?

  This was never a mystery, this was police incompetence and negligence. The mother knew who killed her daughter day one and yet it takes decades to ‘identify’ the suspect?!

  The mother is owed an apology by the police who not  only made her life miserable from the first day of grieving her loss but then didnt bother to run a real investigation.  So she had her reputation trashed and was not heard. Shocking and abusive ascwell as negligent

  During the great depression,  my maternal grandmother's parents let boarders stay. She ended up getting impregnated twice by boarders.  Because her parents rented space.  The risk is too great to let boarders around kids.

  Even though the boader wasn't living there at that time, he had to come back and kill the child because she may talk about the abuse. The mother actually said she thinks its that man but the police didn't believe her.

  Inspector Iddles is a very smart man. Good instincts, level-headed and thorough. He cares very much about his job. Australia is lucky to have such a man.

  Anybody who pushes a fake alibi for a friend especially when it comes to murder the one doing so should get the exact sentence as the killer.
