"I can't pretend a stranger is a long awaited friend" sums up Neil. He was a very private person and the adoration of fans " creeped him out".

RUSH is a thinking person's band.

Alex once said this guitar solo was meant to invoke the feeling of lonliness on a stage, isolated from normal people even while all these surrounding crowds go wild. He was always thinking conceptually and narratively with choice of notes, the direction and development of each solo.

You think you love Neil’s drumming, then learn he’s the main lyricist of the band, you know why his nickname was “The Professor”

The song in essence was Neil’s difficulty with being in the limelight
If you wanna rock an amazing drum solo check out Neil’s solo in Frankfurt
Insanely Good

There is a RUSH documentary called, "Beyond the Light Stage" that will answer your questions about them as musicians, friends, and all around good humans. You will absolutely adore this doc and fall deeper in love with the band. Maybe you will watch the movie live on Patrion???? I'd love to join you there. 💕

You want a Neil drum solo? There is a 8 minute live solo in Frankfurt. He is in a 360 surround kit. It is mind blowing.

After a concert, Geddy and Alex would meet with the public, while Neil would quickly slip away and ride his motorcycle to the next concert venue!
He wrote the lyrics to Limelight to explain his feelings.

At 75, it's still my favorite band. ✌️

Fun tidbit, a CBC interviewer asked Geddy what his favorite time signature is. Without hesitation he replied 7/4.
