  The reason the commentators whisper is because in the early days of T.V. coverage the commentator was actually sitting in the audience and obviously didn't want to upset his neighbours, and it's just become tradition.

  Ronnie already had most of the records under his belt. He has the highest number of century breaks (1,320), the highest number of 147s (17), the fastest 147 ever (5 minutes 8 seconds). He's also won the highest number of Triple Crown titles (23) and the most ranking titles (41), which includes 8 UK Championships and 8 UK Masters. He also holds the record for the most consecutive appearences at the Crucible, with 33.

  Other players have pulled off &gt;147 breaks in the past, but this was the first time it&apos;d happened in a major televised tournament. They are surpassing rare events!<br><br>For Ronnie, this was like an old war horse responding to the call of distant bugles. A &gt;147 break was the one thing he&apos;d not got on the score board (he&apos;s done everything else in snooker). Knowing this, everyone knew exactly what Ronnie would attempt, and hoped he would succeed!

  These tournaments usually have multiple tables going on at once if its not finals yet, so you hear clapping related to some other match going on..

  His pots look easy due to his total control of the white ball and how it spins, moves and where it lands next. &nbsp;It looks simple but is incredibly difficult. &nbsp;Amazingly he also benefits from being able to play just as well left handed as right handed which means he can reach pots others can’t.

  This isn&apos;t Ronnie in his prime, it&apos;s just that his prime was so good that the drop off leaves him at a very high level still!

  If the ball touches the edge of the pocket before dropping, it&apos;s not necessarily because of inaccuracy. Pros often &quot;steal&quot; part of the pocket in order to keep the cue ball in a better spot.

  The clapping is because they have multiple matches at the same time, so they&apos;re likely clapping a good shot in the other match that&apos;s happening next door.<br><br>And the pockets don&apos;t have a bottom, as they open up onto a rail that collects the balls. Closed pockets would fill up too fast - think about the reds and black going into those two bottom pockets - and, in snooker, you replace colours, until all the reds are cleared, so you need to make it easy to pull the colours out and put them back on the table. There&apos;s a rail under the pocket that just stores the balls.
