  It is amazing the amount of people that were on the move before written history. We think we are so clever but the more we learn of the past , &nbsp;the more we learn we are just in a line of very smart ancestors. Very good lesson, Bruce.

  Thanks, Bruce. I spent three years in St Andrews studying at St Marys. I loved the town and still do. I wish I&apos;d spent more time researching its history. Oh, yes, and I&apos;m not a foreigner, I was born and brought up in the west of Scotland. So, there were still some Scots about the town when I was there.

  Back in the early 70s, some friends of mine dressed up in black cassocks and we wandered around the cathedral singing hymns at 10 pm, when the pubs closed. Then listened to the stories the next day. Thanks for the memories!
