  Can we all just take a second and appreciate that fork truck driver? &nbsp;Not even a crack on the underbody panels is some legit skill. And he dropped it dead center between the trailer wheels with not a lot of room to spare. Seriously impressed.

  Congrats with the purchase!<br><br>A few ideas for the upcoming repair:<br>- the li ion battery is abt 2.5k, needs to be coded with xentry too.<br>- on my gts, I fixed the dead battery using a separate 12v agm battery plus a li ion ctek charger. It has a charging controller in it, so if it’s dead it won’t accept charge.<br>So I added a 12v battery in parallel for maybe 30-60min and added the liion charger on top of that, then disconnected the 12v battery. It charged fully overnight and is still fine a year after!<br>- check getrag transmission, it has a weep hole indicating a leak. If there is, there are a few shops in the states which can repair it, or you are in for a journey, they repair is difficult, needs plenty of special tools. Mercedes only replaced those transmissions, Ferrari has special tools and a 300 page manual on repair. This is an almost guaranteed problem overtime.<br>- spark plugs: in amg gt* the spark plugs are special, only get oem ones. They are made by Bosch but customized so the thread is done in such a way that after torquing it, it will be positioned in a very specific way.<br><br>the peeling dash is a common problem, since it was sitting outside, that’s why it happened. Dealer charges abt 10k for dash replacement, it will need almost entire front interior to be pulled out, a bad job:( Mercedes put some bad glue for the leather and almost all of them started peeling like that, unless garage kept.<br><br>- after you fix it, put eurocharged stage 1 or 2 tune on it, abt 2k, done remotely via obd. Worth it 100%<br>- in the leaky trunk on the left is the TCU, eurocharged can tune it too, but it needs to be mailed. Only bench tuning.

  I think I drove this car at Laguna Seca for AMG driving academy. I looked at the photo I had, the car had a meguiars sticker in the same spot on the driver side. It also had a mobil 1 and continental decal on the side skirt and a #21 on the hood and door.

  The torque tube on that is factory. I&apos;m a 20 year mercedes master tech &nbsp;and have worked on plenty of those if you have a questions and if you want to get me the Vin i could look up the history of the vehicle.

  Alex…every car that the AMG driving experience owns eventually ends up at auction….each car is listed as non-running/salvage….DO NOT START…..99% of those cars actually run.<br><br>The whole purpose behind it is to keep dealers from buying these cars and jacking the prices sky high…they wanted to give people the ultimate driving experience at the track and it’s brand consistent when sending them to auction.<br><br>The little congrats is them saying we hope you enjoy your new AMG…<br><br>Brah…I think you got a hell of a car and I hope it’s in the 99%

  This is my theory. <br>A Mercedes sponsored race car driver was gifted the car as a free lease, Mercedes technically still owned the car. The race car driver used the car as his personal vehicle as well as at the track. He modded the car extensively, then it’s started having engine problems. Being a free lease he took it to Mercedes to see if he could get it fixed under warranty but of course he was denied because of the mods. So, now ticked off, he wants out of the free lease so he has all the mods removed and the car put back to stock. Including having his fender vents removed, patched and repainted. Then he gave the car back to Mercedes who couldn’t sell it with its history so it ended up at auction.

  If you Google AMG GT R yellow driving academy. &nbsp;You will see multiple photos and videos showing cars with the Meguires decal in the exact same location. That easily proves it was an Academy car at one time.
