  I actually agree with a lot of the points made here. <br> <br>The human body constantly repairs itself but evolution puts a limit on that. <br> <br>However, some animals have found different ways around these limits. Naked mole rats can live for decades with very low rates of cancer.

  What really gets me is that aging isn’t just the body “wearing out”, our cells are constantly repairing damage, but that maintenance system has limits. Evolution never had to build us for forever.

  This world is built on struggle. From the day we are born until the day we die, suffering is part of life. Before creating a new life, we should think carefully about what kind of world we are bringing them into.

  I don&apos;t want to be immortal, that would be crazy. But forever young! That&apos;s another story. Who wants to get old with all the problems? Finite, but not limited lifespan.

  I recall reading that when Fleming discovered penicillin (during the late 1920s?) many of those times thought that unlimited human life spans was possible.

  I used to want to live forever, &nbsp;but since my wife passed on recently, &nbsp;now I just want to live out the rest of my time on this world/dimension, then go join her and my other loved ones on the other side.

  Well if I remember that little bit of science correctly, at the end of each DNA strand you find a telomere. As you age they get shorter and shorter. When those telomere are completely gone the strand can no longer reproduce cells and there comes a point in time where things start to fail and you are finally caput.

  The percentage wanting to live to 500 will be much higher in a young healthy person than an old unhealthy one.
