  I think swordies have been getting parried a lot more now and it’s scary when you’re in disadvantage state with them especially with Roy and Cloud. Cloud being at 28 on the new tier list also shows clarity.

  I think it's funny that Byleth was able to dominate because as bad of a low start he was, he has that high power level ceiling of cheese which someone only as good as Leo was able to pull out

  It's because they're way too honest. Even Roy and Aegis don't have tods or anything. They're just good characters

  Well I just watched a tournament where if a ganondorf guessed right he won the entire game. I mean if you have a shortcut to your win condition that's just really good I guess.

  Ultimate at this point is pretty done with &quot;neutral&quot; as a foundational concept. <br><br>Even characters with &quot;bad&quot; neutrals are doing better than Swordies and I firmly believe it&apos;s because once you&apos;ve played the game enough, you should just have a good neutral in general, character choice be damned. <br><br>Japan just had a tournament where a Ganondorf was crushing people because ultimately nobody wins the game by being in neutral.<br><br>You win by taking every stock. <br><br>Swordies don&apos;t naturally lend themselves to taking stocks without hard reads. And with that in mind, why not pick a character who also takes stocks with hard reads but kills significantly easier? <br><br>Ultimate is not intricate enough of a game for it to have evolved to have the most strict or unbalanced neutral of any fighting game, therefore the weakness of a character&apos;s other stats are going to shine a lot brighter. Most swordies just don&apos;t do anything besides &quot;win neutral&quot; and its like...<br><br>&quot;Everyone can win neutral in Ultimate, dipshit, it came free with your universal parry and 3 frame jumpsquats.&quot;

  I agree with your take on this. They&apos;re a relic of 2018-2020 where neutral was important. But because everyone has developed their techs, confirms, and gameplans it now matters about checkmating your opponent the fastest which most swordies cannot do. The one who technically can like Aegis and Roy excel but the rest will wither away like Lucina, Byleth, and more
