  WOW. So basically, I recognized the Dies Irae motif without realizing it?? Lol huge thanks to that Zanza The Divine track for helping me connect the melody to Bellhart! I feel so stupid for not realizing or knowing about the motif in the first place... At least I'm educated now!

  The Nyleth song is particularly heartbreakingly good when you know the background of the track: there was a fan of Hollow Knight, a boy named Seth Goldman, who was diagnosed with cancer. He asked to meet Team Cherry and they made it happen, letting him design a boss. So the song is very much in memory of Seth, who unfortunately did not live to see the release of the game, but did see his design in action before he passed.

  Fun fact: for the boss fight that uses Skarrsinger Karmelita (Skarrsinger…Karmelita), if you stun her, the vocal part of the song stops and only starts again once she gets back up so she’s singing the song in-universe as well. WHILE fighting you.

  Nyleth is technically a theme for two bosses, though its widely considered the theme of just the first one you encounter of the two. &quot;Shrine Guardian Seth&quot;<br>Seth, was a real person, a child in fact, who unfortunately was very ill. His original hollow knight character has been put into silksong as a boss, and that is his theme.<br>Seth passed away long before silksong ever released, but the community loves that little dude deeply.

  The most tragic part about Karmelita is that <br><br>Spoilers ahead<br><br> her song gave power to her tribe to resist the influence of a higher being, AKA the source of silk and the reason enemies attack you, but when you meet her she&apos;s grown so old she can barely talk and her tribe is haunted like every other enemy in the game. You can even play the needolin and she&apos;ll try to start her song. Her theme is so high power because we go to the past, through her memories to fight her in her prime<br><br>And less tragic fact! The act of producing song can repel haunted enemies or stop them from attacking, and one could theorize that this is the reason little Sherma manages to travel as far as he does without ever resorting to violence. He also comes close to dying in Whiteward because he was probably too scared to sing 🥺
