  The Western media insists even today that Xinjiang people are forced to work like slaves in cotton fields. The truth is, 95% of the cotton fields are mechanized. They say that the Uyghur language is prohibited. The truth is, all the signboards in Xinjiang cities are written in both Mandarin and the Uyghur language; students in Xinjiang are taught in both languages in schools.
