  My wife and I were eating at food court in a mall in Suzhou, and this man with a little boy let the kid pee on the floor right in front of the food court.  The first time I was there in 2004, visiting her family, we took the train from Hefei to Shanghai, and saw what the rural countyside looked like.  It was pretty shocking.  My wife took me to visit her grandpa in Fuzhou, where she lived from age 4 until she went to college, and I was shocked to see where she lived.  The poor in America live much better than were she lived.

  I had a go at one of them spitting on the carpet in a Tokyo airport. He went nuts. Ended ranting at me.  It resulted in him not being allowed to board.

  i have been to china 10 times, travelled to over 40 cities, first thing i noticed was the spitting on the streets, public toilets are rancid, smoking in restaurant's when there are NO SMOKING signs, defecating on the streets, pissing on the streets, people with no manners, trying to exit an elevator ,as soon as the doors open, 20 people try to pile in before anyone exits.

  I went to Northern China once, and landed around 8pm. By the time I got to town most restaurants were already closed. One dude allowed me to go to his restaurant. He was the owner and cooked up some BBQ. As soon as he served me he proceeds to spit phlegm right next to me on the floor - HIS RESTAURANT FLOOR and RIGHT  NEXT TO ME. I looked at him thinking he was trying to offend or provoke me. He looked casual with a dumbed down face. I just couldn't of all places he had to spit right in front of me. I lost my appetite, didn't touch the food, paid and left.
