  If coffee was two dollars, maybe it’d be OK to buy coffee every day, but the coffee people buy are like $10 a day so that could add up to a lot of money saved to pay off credit cards and other things.

  The CSP informs my budget, and to me, my budget = the amount I can spend guilt-free. So they aren’t mutually exclusive in my world.

  When my husband and I bought our home in 2010, we crunched no numbers. <br><br>We had $5,000 to our name. Obama offered an $8,000 check to new homeowners. <br><br>We borrowed $8,000 from parents + our $5,000 to put $13,000 down on a $130,000 house. Got the check a couple weeks later and paid our parents back. <br><br>There was so much we didn’t know about money at the time. We’ve been fortunate to avoid financial disaster since!

  I’m weird. I actually love making my budget, and I am ok with being slightly over or under in certain things. My budget has some flexibility, but I just enjoy being organized and structured with my spending.<br><br>I do keep in mind a lot of Ramit’s money philosophies. I try to recognize the things that give me joy and allocate funds to those things. This is the big concept that I’m learning to try to focus on.<br><br>Really happy to have discovered your channel Ramit and look forward to watching more of your content.
