  Before doing a new comment, please look at the very first few before restating the same point thst everyone else has.<br><br>Also I know fungi are not plants. Nobody cares about the verbage, that&apos;s not the videos focus.

  I think with soul sand, instead of just asking why it exists in the nether, we should also ask why it can&apos;t be found anywhere else. Plenty of things die in the overworld and end, but no soul sand is present. <br><br>I would speculate that the reason is that the overworld and end are open to the sky, allowing souls to escape to.. wherever souls go. But because the nether is encased by bedrock above and below, it&apos;s much more difficult, if not impossible, for souls to escape. Instead they linger, and eventually condense into soul sand. This buildup of energy might also be responsible for the nether&apos;s intense heat. The whole place is like a pressure cooker full of soul energy.

  Maybe Piglins get obsidian from tamed or farmed ghasts, using their tears to harden lava. Thats why crying obsidian exists

Ghasts are implied to be aquatic creatures originally, and the dessicated baby ghasts are often found at the base of these skeletons. The soul sand valleys could be a dry ocean basin, with the skeletons being the remains of large aquatic creatures.

  There’s a theory that the bones littering the soulsand valley are actually the remains of ancient primordial Withers that use to inhabit the nether and the fortresses were possibly created to fend off these massive primordial beasts.<br><br>Looking at the damaged parts of the nether fortress it does look like something massive crashed through said structure.

  this could be stupid but when obsidian is used for magic stuff, its always in conjunction with something else. the nether portal is lit with fire, you enchant with lapis, a respawn anchor needs glowstone, the end spikes have the crystals made of other stuff. so could this mean that obsidian isnt actually magical but instead has some kind of magical conductivity or something? idk its a stretch

  A lot of ancient cultures,especially in mesoamerica, used obsidian for magical purposes, including rituals and practices involving the afterlife. It makes sense that they would use that as the primary magical material. Lapis Lazuli was also used for similar purposes.

  I believe that the presents of opsidian in the nether (both in ruined portals and the fact that piglins own it) implies that the nether once had water before the cataclysm that created the soul sand valley. This is further evidenced by the presence of basalt which forms through rapidly cooling lava and can be crafted using ice and lava. <br>So the nether clearly wasn&apos;t always as hot as it is now. Also the happy ghasts need for water and love for snow further supports this.

  i feel like it functions as hell but due to outsider interference it mutated into being its own thing with its own ecosystems and fauna, so instead of being a place of death and torture it had adapted into being yet another land where life thrives for survival.

  In old versions the biome on F3 was called Hell. Originally I think this is the idea but it’s very different I think now.
