  Rory was still young in the revival she can still turn it around but yea she WAS handed a lot in life while Paris was resilient so she became stronger and more motivated

  Rory had an unrealistically big support group that coddled her into failure by expecting her to be someone she really wasn't. No one but Paris believed in herself, this led to Paris becoming self reliant and self motivational to cope with her loneliness whereas Rory ALWAYS had someone to catch her when she fell. Poor thing. Rory never really processed emotions in a healthy way, she was avoidant because she thought her emotions would push people away from the "ideal" Rory she wanted to live up to. She would hold things in until she blew up.

  This is why failure in your early years is important. Same with risk taking. Because the risks will lead to failure. It's harder to navigate failures in adulthood if you didn't navigate them in childhood.

  It never made sense that Paris didn’t make it into Harvard. She was a legacy. She had a stronger resume than Rory. How tf did Rory fall behind in school and still get valedictorian over Paris, who never fell behind? It always bugged me that they the show writers literally did punish her for having sex.

  Paris failing at being Yale's editor in chief never made sense to me, because she had no issues at the Chilton newspaper. That specific failure felt forced by the story so that Rory could win.

  I used to read a ton of autobiographies, and one thing almost every successful person wrote about was being told that they couldn't do the thing that ultimately made them famous. A sentence common to many of them was "If you would have told me 5 years ago that I'd be here, I would have told you that you were crazy."

  That’s what happens when you raise your kids as your best friend instead of a parent. Rory was treated like an equal right from the start, instead of growing and learning to be one for herself.

  Paris also got help and a lot of self awareness, unlike Rory. Plus, Paris is cutthroat and competitive…Rory isn’t. So, failure is easier to accept and move on from

  The issue is she was told she was special as well as having that 'not like other girls  reputation.  She wasn't  special. She was put on a pedestal and when she failed  she couldn't  handle it.
