I want to commend the entire staff of History Ville on this excellent documentary. You did your research very well. Sani Abacha was able manage Nigeria's economy very well despite low oil price during his regime. Abacha just as you pointed out was patient and knew the right time to grab power. Once again I say thank to everyone at History Ville for this excellent documentary.

Abacha was the crook and cretin who took looting to a new level in Nigeria.  Sani Abacha was an apprentice driver who failed Staff College but was given a pass to senior military positions, and allowed to inflict mayhem on the nation.  He was no more than a thug and a miscreant who took advantage of a nation in crisis to unleash terror on a people who used to beat their chests that an Idi Amin type of a bandit will never rule over them.  This deadbeat did with monumental consequences and series of murders of people who were way more valuable to Nigeria that he would ever be.
