Details and objectivity is always important. Ojukwu went for the meeting well prepared for the meeting but the Federal delegation were not did not go prepared. Ambiguity is always a recipe for disaster!

Gowon owe the whole of the easterners a profound apology. The war would had been averted if he had attended that meeting prepared. My pain is the fact that we minorities joined the evil intended fg to fight the east,a very painful mistake on our part

I would have gotten on with Col. Ojukwu. He seemed savvy to the reality that those in power seek to benefit themselves primarily.

Everyone has right to self determination. We were never a conquered territory and if Kosovo could get their independence from Serbia and South Sudan from Sudan. We the indigenous people of the Niger Area will get our independence from Fulani Maruaders that are bent on enslaving or exterminating us.
Our Freedom is non-negotiable!

Had it been the Aburi Accord was implemented and we had a confederation, no Nigerian would have been poor today... Keeping Nigeria united, at all costs, leads to massive poverty for the citizens. Ojukwu was right, all along... Let each region (or state) take care of themselves with their resources while the centre serve as a territorial bodyguard. Simple...it'll make all Nigerian citizens to be rich & flourishing.

I think that a presidential meeting that was held for 2days is enough for both parties to understand the terms and conditions. Also who as a leader goes on a delegation empty? How is possible. Saying that Gowon didn’t understand what’s was agreed on a 2days meeting is a big lie from the pit of hell .

2nd of all, the terms and conditions and demands of ojukwu was so beautiful that’s it would’ve be the best thing that could’ve happened to Nigeria. Seeing where we are in Nigeria now(2025

How do u unalived over 3m people just to keep the nation one ? lol

Now fast ward to 2025 is Nigeria one?

I have always admired ojukwu for his vision, I admire the Igbos ingenuity, why did such an educated people become subdued by virtually uneducated & poverty ridden north?
