  Steve is one of the most humble and kind guys you could ever meet.  He was never about the fame..just the music.  The best singer of all time IMO❤❤❤

  Steve Perry is definitely a “good dude”. He gave Sheree Swafford, his then girlfriend, residuals from the song after they broke up.

  Steve is a very humble kind of a guy. He is Portuguese his family is from the Azores. He was raised by his Mother and &nbsp;Father. His parents divorced when Steve was 8 years old. His Mother and Grandfather raised him. He was born in Handford California. Worked on his Grandfather&apos;s Turkey Farm. And worked as a construction worker. Never ever heard of Steve getting in trouble or doing crazy stuff like a lot of rock stars. He did indulge in drinking while with Journey and participated in things but according to the band on off days never while on the road or when they had to perform. They had a tough manager. Herbie Herbert. So...Steve pretty much was a real down to earth guy and still is today he&apos;s on his early 70s.

  Funny Story. I’m a nurse and worked at a big teaching hospital. I was called in one night for an emergency procedure. I was the first one there, at least I thought I was. I was singing “Oh Sherrie” at the top of my lungs in the procedure room. Anesthesiologist came in laughing saying he was a Steve Perry fan. During the procedure he kept calling me “Steve Perry girl” because he couldn’t remember my name. Hahaha.

  Strve’s song “Strong Out” and the accompanying video with the same name is the precursor to this music video. “Strung Out” is another great song from the same album that “Oh Sherrie” comes from, “Street Talk”. The entire album is amazing and was created while Steve was still with Journey. Neal had already created two non-Journey albums with Jan Hammer so Steve wanted a shot at making his own album. Steve’s first solo album did much better on the charts that Neal’s did which didn’t sit well with Neal. The song “Anyway” from Steve’s “For the Love of Strange Medicine” album was Steve’s apology to his Journey bandmates for his part in some of the discord within the band. The are videos of Steve’s concert for his album “For the Love of Strange Medicine”. You get a good feel for Steve’s sense of humor and just how talented he is in writing and producing music. Steve’s third album called Traces” was created due to a promise that he made to his dying girlfriend, Kelly Nash. Steve was deeply in love with Kelly and helped her try to fight the cancer, but unfortunately cancer won.
