I'll never forget the immortal words "I floop the pig."

Fun fact: someone is trying to make a proper, show-accurate real life version of Card Wars. It is absolute hell.

CARD WARS LITERALLY CHANGED THE PATH OF MY LIFE FOREVER. It made me into cards, creating cards, designing monsters, creatures, characters, complex interactions, statistics, tcgs, ttrpgs, card video games, and thus I wanted to become a programmer and artist

Finn is just the guy in Yugioh who actually reads the card effects.

Finn didn’t know how the game worked, but he knows how battle works. So he had real life experience on his side

I knew IRL gamers exactly like both Finn and Jake.
One was the sore winner who would invite new players to play and then crush them.
The other was the noob D&D player who just SAW how classes and feats and spells would interact as soon as he read them and would create these instantly broken builds.
The first person, I just stopped playing with (and he was the reason why I didn't play CCGs for YEARS).
The second person was one of my most challenging players as a GM. I would have him play classes and roles outside his comfort zone, and he would always turn them into insane power gamer strats, even with extremely limited options. It was nuts - and kinda impressive.

These reactions have been therapeutic for me, maybe because this was a big childhood show for me, and watching a person experience it for the first time is nostalgic.

Jake bought the expensive tier 1 deck, but failed to read what any of his cards do. Finn just read the cards.
