I think the Lich is essentially just the embodiment of resignation, hopelessness, and opposition. He was compelled to do what he did because it's the very substance of his being. He was always doomed to lose by being an embodiment of such things. He never had a chance of actually destroying all life, even if he hoped for it, because he is made of hopelessness. He must still be fought, but he kind of exemplifies that no matter what terrible thing happens, no matter if the Lich exists, so too do all these silly, funny, wild other beings. He's a strange counterpoint that proves the validity of life.

50 minutes well spent. This new format of a video which unfolds through the lens of the main villain (or through any character worth exploring) feels new, fresh and exciting! Please do more of these!

What about adventure time from Golbs point of view having your brother and worst enemy being prismos boss and being the multiverses most wanted war criminal monster and incarnation of chaos and entropy

I wonder if it's the presence of other cosmic entities appearing on earth that allowed life to adapt and survive? We have Coconteppi, Oorgalorg, Finn, Space Lards, Martians, A booger, That guy, The other Guy.... yeah.

The lich and all the plot lines involving it are honestly so awesome. It’s an extremely well done boss level threat. Golb is also a very cool god and perfect for Adventure time.
This video really heightened my appreciation for the writing in the series.

45:25 actually its still golb, betty is just a small fragment of golb now and she cant even influence him so if u think about it its golb’s own decision to turn lich into a tetris block which show that he didnt really matter to golb even if he was the first one to extinguished all life in his world
