  People from Minas are very easy going and Bourdain is sorely missed. I remember when I was a little child and went to Brazil with my parents to visit my grandmother. At night from her balcony she pointed to a cemetery in Belo Horizonte and told me “there is where your great-great grandparents are. My father, my mother and your grandfather are also there. To the right is your great-uncle tomb who lost his life at a very young age when he went to Europe to fight against the Nazis.”<br>Now she’s also resting in that same place. <br>I was a little child but her words, the lights of the city and the smell of the food stayed with me forever.

I never thought that a 3 second clip in a BBC documentary would make me cry. &nbsp;Thank you for letting me have the chance to see my great friend Sr. Juventino once again and for immortalizing him on this very short clip in this video. Juventino was the owner of the bar Lua Nova for almost 30 years. Me and my friends were there every week for many years, but unfortunately he passed away during the pandemic. I had one last chance to see him and say goodbye in 2019, before I moved abroad. That was our last gathering. We miss him and lua nova so fucking much.

  Kiwi here. I Had never heard of Belo before going to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. But I I’ll never forget it now. Such lovely people and the food yes is amazing. I was invited after attending a game at the stadium to a persons home for a bbq and to watch the Brazil match at their home later that day. All the family and neighbours were there and the hospitality and experience was amazing. Brazil drew with Mexico unfortunately , but the bbq, beers and Cachaça flowed into the early hours of the next day . Brazil is a beautiful country on the whole and will forever hold my heart. 🇧🇷❤
