  Kapernack had a guaranteed contract from the Niners for one more year and he opted out thinking he was going to get a multi year mega deal from someone else.

  Everyone forgets that Alex Smith only lost the championship the year before because special teams cost them two TDs in a game they lost by 3 points.

  He lost his starting job long before the "social stances" began he was still a backup caliber QB but nobody wants that type of heat for a team back up. His grift lives on to this day

  Richard Sherman broke something in him. After the 2013 NFC Championship game, every time he played Seattle he&apos;d force throws at Sherman, and a bunch of them got picked. There was one night game, I can&apos;t remember exactly when, but he absolutely imploded against Seattle, and it was so clear he was basically Tin Cupping it, like he HAD to prove he could complete a key ball against Sherm. &nbsp;<br><br>Guy had all the talent in the world, his TD in that same NFC Championship game over Earl Thomas is one of the greatest throws I have ever seen, but he refused to adapt his game. He just kept trying to run through a brick wall to prove he could do it, rather than eat some humble pie and find a different way.

  Niners fan here. Watching Kap in 2012-13 was fun. BUT from what I heard Kap never wanted to change anything. He never did adjustments like doc rivers lol. Nice teams figured him out and him not making adjustments it’s over for him.

  There was no way any team would take on that kind of drama and distraction for a backup QB. NFL teams do everything possible to avoid distractions, CK was a walking distraction, he turned the whole team into a protest rally. &nbsp; To me he seemed like a bi-racial dude who was raised by white parents in a white community, and had some kind of identity crisis when he became an adult, and overcompensated by trying to become the next Malcolm X

  He didn’t get benched because he was protesting, he was protesting BECAUSE he got benched. The so called “injustice” was done to him! … at least in his mind.

  I&apos;ll always remember my political science professor who didn&apos;t follow football at all began to fall for Kaepernick&apos;s fraudulent status as a protestor for social justice and I had to tell her that it was all show on his part because he&apos;d already lost his job as starting QB before he ever began kneeling. If the message ever meant anything to him, he&apos;d have been kneeling during the national anthem all along; it was just a stunt on his part because his play could no longer get him any attention.

  He only started kneeling when he got beat out by Gabbert , twice. That&apos;s when he started.

  What happened is that most teams figured out that most Read Pass Quarterbacks, other than Russell Wilson could not throw. &nbsp;Defenses started to force Kap to throw and stopped him from running. He had only one season where he started 16 games and had a winning record.

  I remember watching a game once, and the announcers were showing how the defensive end was just laying a lick on the quarterback during and RPO even after they handed the ball off (which is perfectly legal because they are simulating holding the ball), and realizing &quot;oh, this fad is so over&quot;...
