1/4 to 1/3 of Texans would want to separate from the US. Alberta does have some legitimate historical gripes and I'm confident Canada and Alberta can work it out.

Steve, thank you for another excellent episode of The Paikin Podcast.<br><br>Here’s one question I’m not sure the polls are asking directly about Alberta separation: If the separatists succeed, what percentage of Alberta’s young, educated and successful people would choose to leave the province?<br><br>That is the question I’m facing personally here in Calgary. If young Albertans—like my two children and their families—decide that their future is more secure elsewhere in Canada, what would that kind of exodus mean for Alberta’s economy and its future?

Yes, if Alberta separates, it will cost millions when companies and people leave. Who the heck wants to invest in an unpredictable economy? Also annoying are the costs this entire exercise imposes on Alberta. Instead of the cutbacks Smith made in health and education, that money could have been spent where citizens actually need support. Cannot believe the manipulation of the Conservatives in BC, who are currently in an election, but so many of them support the separation of Alberta.

Why are you comparing it to Brexit? Why not to the Ukrainian separatists in Donbass, this could lead to a major war between Canada and America. War is unleashed even if no one wants it, don't be so naive.
