  I'll be driving my paid off Jeep until the wheels falls off. Then I'll pick the wheels back up and put them right back on.

  People can't afford cars because every car is sold as a luxury car and priced as one. Why is a Honda Civic with no features selling for $28k after taxes?   Half the car is plastic.

  I leased for 9 years, the last car I had was a 2021 Kia Sportage and I was paying $800 a month. I had credit card debt that I couldn't pay off, so when I got a good paying job working from home I decided to not lease another car and to use the money to pay off my debt. I live in small town with a grocery store, hardware store, Rite Aid, café and other restaurants across the street from me, and my gym is two blocks away. Everything else is within walking distance so I decided that I can do without a vehicle. Everyone around me (friends and coworkers and family) thought I was insane and asked if I was embarrassed, as if i was commiting social suicide. Take your ego out of the equation.  I was able to pay off my debt and save a bunch of money. Now they're complaining about their stress. I'm glad I made this decision.

  Just remember that if they weren’t making their car payment, they probably weren’t keeping up with maintenance on the vehicle. Might only have 20,000 miles but the hood may have never been popped during that time

  2 years ago, Chase (my bank) pre-approved me for $50,000 car loan with a 27.5% interest rate.  I OBVIOUSLY waited a few years, but the fact that even the most credible institutions would offer such predatory rates should be a significant red flag.

  Just 2 days ago I was driving past my old landlord’s house and witnessed her car being repossessed 😭 after all of the hell she put me through it was healing to see revenge being served
