  Take the coil off, adjust the whip only. Best results. I use this way for 10m band. 11m not too different. Very good vid Fred

  To those asking about SWR and where to connect your meter....I suggest looking at DX engineering video , SWR video ,understanding SWR and demystifying / debunking.... I'm not exactly sure of the exact title of his video but it's something like that and I found it understandable . As a new ham , I can't vouch for his expertise but it made sense to me.

  Bought the same antenna. Seemed very practical during hikes or roadtrips. Had almost exactly the same readings on the VNA and also had to reduce the whip length quite a bit. I was about just as surprised as you Fred! Also on the coil: didn&apos;t really seem to do that much on 10/11 meters.<br><br>Really hope this antenna will work in the field. Looking forward to play around with it since I live in an appartment building with just a lousy boomerang and alot of interference.<br><br>Edit: also Fred i&apos;d like to thank you for all your wonderful content. Your way of reviewing, messing about and experiments always seem to trigger my enthusiasm. Brilliant channel. Really hope to catch you in DX one day!<br><br>19CT040, 73!

  i just got one Fred. seems very capable. you can also fit a 5.2 meter long telescopic antenna and remove the coil and the poles... also a ground plane plate removes all the rubbish ribbon cable and gives 12 mounting points for something like DX10 ground wire...

  Great video and yes I&apos;ve been looking at this myself, what a small world FRED. It took me back to the old days when I had a telescopic antenna on my car for CB, and it had a screw at the top obviously for the swr. But not seen them about for long time, because that was AM days so very stealth.its a shame that you have to lower it so much, but you got out and I&apos;m impressed with the swr, thank you very much FRED, and take care of yourself and yours Alan. 💯👍

  I&apos;ve used this antenna Fred on 20m &amp; 40m for the last year and found it pretty good. It is very portable but I have mostly used it in a small back garden where it performs far better than I ever expected. Not thought to try it on CB, but unlike Hertfordshire there appears to be no CB users in South West England.
